Other wise known as Under Cover Brother Or UCB.
As you can see I am Marching with the Hawthorne Caballeros. This year I am marching Euphonium. Last year in 2002 I played 3rd Baritone. This was after a 20's of not marching and being a spectator.
Yes 20 years ago I marched with a Note what I am going to say a Class A Corps. Fantasia III From Little falls NJ. I am proud to say that in 1981 we Traveled to Canada and Placed 2nd in the Class a Division. I was a Soprano player back then. A few years later the corps Folded. Most of my Friends went on to march with Bridgemen,Garfield Cadets,And Blue Devils, While I became a spectator mastering the Art of getting good seats at DCI East, DCI Finals and any of the Cadets home shows.
Why am I marching again. Well one I love Drum Corps its an awesome activity for anyone to be involed in Young or "Older". A friend of mine who marched with the cabs in the 90's was going back to march again and said I should come up and check it out. I said sure not thinking I would really do it especially since I had not played in 20 years. When I got there that changed. I was made to feel so welcome. Like I had been there the whole time. Then When I played I was not too bad. They Gave me a Bari and yeah it was heavy but it was nice to be playing again. Looking back I am sooo glad I am on Bari. Our line is has a great bunch of people in it. Also relearning to read and play is easier on Bari. Last years show well lets just say it was easier with alot more whole notes than This upcoming season. 2003 I believe is going to be something special. So that is how I got back into marching. I am glad I did and wish I had done it sooner..
